Begin:
woe 16 mar 2016 17:30
Eind:
woe 16 mar 2016 20:30
Op 16 maart is er weer VVM Café. Deze keer is het thema Kapitaal en water. Van mare liberum naar mare restrictum ingevuld door sectie Ethiek en Milieufilosofie. Hoofdspreker is René ten Bos, filosoof. Hij gaat in op de relatie tussen kapitalisme en zee. Ebel Smidt is co-referent.

Ebel Smidt is co-referent.

Er is tijdens dit VVM Café volop ruimte voor een goed, inhoudelijk gesprek.

2016 Conference of the European Innovation Partnership on Water

Begin:
woe 10 feb 2016 09:00
Eind:
woe 10 feb 2016 19:00
It will carry the theme: "How is water innovation succeeding in Europe?"

This 3rd EIP Water conference builds up on the success of the first two conferences in 2013 and 2014 in Brussels and Barcelona, respectively. The city of Leeuwarden was selected as a host city after a pan-European competition won by the the province of Fryslân in the Netherlands.

The EIP Water conference will be preceded and followed by a number of side meetings as well as site visits on 9th and 11th February. Participants of the conference will learn about Leeuwarden’s unique features, attend site visits in the north of the Netherlands, and be able to participate in a series of side meetings before and after the event.

EIP Water has taken a central role on the European water innovation landscape, providing a platform for collaboration of all actors in the field of water and innovation. After a successful first EIP Water conference in November 2013 in Brussels, the second EIP Water Conference took place in November 2014 in Barcelona, Europe’s Innovation Capital 2014. More than 400 attendees participated in enlightening discussions on connecting water innovation demand and supply, learned about the activities of 25 EIP Water Action Groups, identified opportunities for collaboration and helped shape European water innovation policy.

EIP Water conferences are brilliant opportunities for strengthening pan-European and global networking for boosting innovation in the water sector. The organizers are confident that the 2016 conference in Leeuwarden will once again be an outstanding event for the European water sector and will contribute to removing innovation barriers and creating opportunities for more water innovation in Europe and globally.

The road to Paris (Part 2): What to expect?

Begin:
maa 2 nov 2015 18:00
Eind:
maa 2 nov 2015 21:00
In the second session, we will look at what can be expected from the coming negotiations in Paris. Now understanding what is happening behind closed doors, what can we expect will be the outcome this time? Will it be another disappointment like Copenhagen, or will it be a step in the right direction? And how do we know that countries comply with agreements and commitments?

December 2014: Lima. December 2015: Paris. Insiders know: this is about the negotiations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Others might wonder: UNFCCC? Paris? What is all the fuss about?

2015 will be a very interesting year, probably with lots of media reports on the ongoing climate negotiations. These two sessions should enable you to put what you read and hear in context, learning from experienced people in the field. You can sign up for individual sessions as well as for both.
