Task democracy is a novel social and political concept for acceleration of urgent sustainability transitions, for climate change mitigation, regenerative agriculture, circular economy, minority rights, citizenship, global justice, etc.
At its core the concept is about task division and society wide project coordination between science, citizens, government, businesses and non-profits, for which adequate platforms are still lacking.
This workshop provides you with a brief introduction, a review of psychological, sociological and educational aspects, and a hands-on roleplay simulation.
In the simulation we split into five groups of task group representatives. We’ll test a task democratic decision-making procedure and observe sense of safety, solidarity, justice and collective change leadership.
In plenary evaluation we consider benefits, costs and risks, and we explore how you can use the task democratic method in your career as a change maker.
